LG Sound is a leading international manufacturer of ultrasonic algae control units founded in the Netherlands since 1999.
LG Sound is an established developer of the LG Sonic technology to safely control algae, cyanobacteria and biofilm. Our objective has always been to reduce or eliminate harmful chemicals in our environment. Therefore we have developed a chemical free technology that controls algae and biofilm without disturbing the natural balance within water ecosystems.
In the course of the last decade, over 10.000 LG Sonic products have been successfully installed in different applications such as natural water surfaces and industrial water that suffered from algae or biofilm problems. With a team of multidisciplinary experts, LG Sound manages to keep at the edge of the market by holding worldwide approved certificates, patents and know-how for the algae control ultrasonic technology under the trademark LG Sonic®.

In order to reach these goals, LG Sound has a strong focus on research and innovation, where lies the basis for their three product lines, that are regularly being updated to the latest state-of-the-art. Through cooperation in several national and EU funded research projects, LG Sound has innovated and developed the unique and patented MPC-Buoy. This technology uses a combination of water quality monitoring and precise ultrasonic programs to selectively control harmful algae blooms. Through this development, a new market was created to which at present no product is available.

NSF/ANSI Standard 61
NSF/ANSI Standard 61 – Drinking Water System Components was published in 1988 to establish minimum requirements for the control of potential adverse human health effects from products that contact drinking water.
NSF/ANSI Standard 61 includes criteria for testing and evaluating products to ensure they do not leach contaminants into the water that would be a health concern. These contaminants include those regulated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and Health Canada, as well as any other non-regulated compounds that may be of concern.
On the contrary of our competitors, all products from the LG Sonic line can be provided NSF/ANSI Standard 61 compliant.
