MPC-Buoy Combines water monitoring, telemetring and ultrasound technology
The patented MPC-buoy combines online water quality monitoring, telemetring and ultrasound technology to provide the state-of-the-art treatment against algae and cyanobacteria in ponds, lakes and dams. by making use of efficient solar panels, the MPC-Buoy will work autonomous, 24/7 worldwide
Interactive Algae & Cyanobacteria control
1: Monitor water qualityThe MPC- Buoy provides a complete overview of the water quality by collecting the following parameters every 10 minutes: • Chlorophyll α (green algae) • Phycocyanin (blue-green algae) • pH • TSS • Dissolved oxygen • Temperature
2: Predict algae bloomsCollected data is delivered realtime through radio, GPRS or 3G. By using a web-based software, a clear overview of your water quality will be provided. Based on these data, a bloom can be predicted a few days ahead.
3: Control algaeBased on the received information, ultrasound transmitters are activated and/or optimized. By using ultrasound pressure, algae and cyanobacteria are controlled. Ultrasound pressure disturbs the buoyancy of the cyanobacteria, causing them to sink to the bottom and die.

MPC-View Online water monitoring software
MPC-View software allows users to visually follow the water quality and the status of the LG Sonic transmitters.
- This web-based software receives, summarizes and publishes data into charts,
tables and sheets on your personal web page.
- Data about projects can be added, like the location of deployment and history of algae blooms.
- This provides a complete overview of the progress of the LG Sonic treatment.
- Reports of the water data can be generated and exported to Excel or converted to PDF.
With real-time water quality data, existing algae blooms can be determined and future algae blooms can be predicted. Based on this ecologists, biologists and technicians from LG Sound verify the current status of a lake and modify the ultrasonic program to match the algae present in the water or prevent a new bloom...
MPC-View software allows customers to view the data of their water body real time. Thanks to the flexibility of this software, user profiles can be created. This way, local authorities have the opportunity to view a full set of data, while other users may only see a specific set of parameters...

Frequently Asked Questions MPC-Buoy
Q: What maintenance is required with the MPC-Buoy technology?
A: The sensors and ultrasonic transmitters on the MPC are all equipped with wipers to keep them clean. This keeps the efficiency and specificity of the MPC optimal and makes frequent maintenance to the system unnecessary.
The sensor have to be sent back to LG Sound once a year for maintenance and calibration
Q: I want to install an MPC-Buoy but I don’t have access to a crane or a big boat at my lake, can I still install the Buoy?
A: Yes, the MPC-Buoy is a modular unit that is easy to assemble and install. The Buoy can be assembled at the shore of the lake and easily pushed into the water. Because it is light, just a small boat will be enough to drag it to the center of the lake.
Q: Can I install the MPC-View software on my own server instead of on the LG Sound server?
A: Yes. The MPC-View software can be set to any server you choose. We do advise to keep LG Sound access to the server in order to change the ultrasonic programs regularly based on the water quality.
Q: I have blue-green algae in my lake, won’t the installation of LG Sonic release the toxins from the cells and create a problem?
A: Whenever blue-green algae are blooming, toxins can always be present in the lake, even when the water is not treated. The LG Sonic itself does not rupture the cells, neither causes cell lysis of algae cells in the water. Instead, the concentration of algae in the water will slowly decrease along with the concentration of toxins in your water and the bad smell. Thus, no drastic increase in toxin concentrations will occur after installing MPC-Buoy.
Q: I have a lake that is bigger than 500 meter in diameter, can I still use the MPC-Buoy technology?
A: Yes, each MPC-Buoy has a range of 500 meters. when the lake is larger than this, a combination of Buoy’s can be used. Because water quality monitoring is not necessary every 500 meters, it is possible to to install some MPC-Bouys without Monitoring package. This way, the MPC-Buoy provides a cost effective solution for algae control, even for large lakes.
Q: What is the difference between MPC-Buoy and the MPC-GRID 24VDC
A: Yes, the MPC technology is available in different versions:
1. MPC-Buoy: This version has 3 solar panels, a range of 500 meter and a Buoy to install it in the middle of the lake.
2. MPC-Grid: This is a smaller version of the Buoy because it doesn’t include the solar panels and batteries, The power is supplied via a 24VDC cable to the float. This unit can have a variable amount of transmitters and strengths to fit any type of pond. Ask LG Sound to prepare you a customized quote for your pond.
Q: Do you also provide water quality monitoring without the ultrasonic devices?
A: Yes, if this is required we can help you with any water quality sensors for your application.
Q: Can I also have the Buoy without the water quality monitoring?
A: Yes, this is called the LG Sonic 360 Solar. It contains the Buoy system, solar power system and
3 LG Sonic e-XXL devices.
Q: Can the MPC-Buoy provide power all year round in any country?
A: Yes, the Buoy is equipped with 3 solar panels of 200 Wp and the batteries provide 3 to 5 days autonomy. This makes MPC-Buoy perfectly capable to provide power all year long anywhere around the world.
Q: What is included with the MPC-Buoy?
A: All the parts are included in the Buoy, including the solar panels and batteries. Because the mooring depends on the type of lake, water depth and climate, the customer needs to arrange is the mooring of the Buoys.
