LG Sonic introduces Depth, GPS and Solar Radiation sensors for better algae prediction

LG Sonic introduces a water level sensor to measure the depth of water reservoirs, and a pyranometer to measure sun radiation. Furthermore, LG Sonic has decided to incorporate a GPS sensor in their algae control system, the MPC-Buoy, in order to determine the exact location of each system accurately.

The sensors can be integrated into the water quality sensor package delivered with the MPC-Buoy, a solar-powered system for monitoring and controlling algal blooms. The company measures essential algae indicators (Chlorophyll-a, Phycocyanin, and Turbidity) and water quality parameters (Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Redox, pH, and Temperature) in order to monitor and control algal blooms. The measured data can be viewed in real-time via a web-based software called the MPC-View.

By incorporating these sensors into our current sensor package, we can offer our customers complete insight into the water quality and water quantity in their lakes and water reservoirs””.

Solar radiation sensor (Pyranometer)

Measures the amount of sunlight for algae growth predication

Algae growth increases as solar radiation increases. The Pyranometer measures the amount of sunlight at a particular place and time. This data, combined with other parameters, allows for more accurate algae prediction.

Ultrasonic Depth SensorUltrasonic depth sensor LG Sonic

Measures the reservoir level and temperature

Rainfall, evaporation, and runoff are natural factors that cause water level fluctuations. The ultrasonic depth sensor provides real-time insight into the water levels of lakes and reservoirs. The data can be viewed in real-time via the MPC-View software.

GPS sensor

GPS current locationAccurate GPS location of the installed algae control systems

The GPS sensor allows you to pinpoint the accurate geographical location of the installed systems. Furthermore, the system will give a more accurate time of the data readings. The location and placement date of the devices are viewable in real-time via the MPC-View software.
