Espera-se que as temperaturas da superf\u00edcie dos lagos no ver\u00e3o aumentem em m\u00e9dia <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s44221-023-00138-w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">0,34\u00b0C por d\u00e9cada<\/a>.<br \/>\nEsta tend\u00eancia de aquecimento trar\u00e1 consequ\u00eancias graves para os lagos, afectando processos cr\u00edticos como os padr\u00f5es de mistura, as taxas de evapora\u00e7\u00e3o, o momento da forma\u00e7\u00e3o do gelo nos lagos e as taxas de crescimento e composi\u00e7\u00e3o das esp\u00e9cies de \u00e1gua doce.<\/p>\n<h2>Examinando a microcistina<\/h2>\n<p>A presen\u00e7a de altas concentra\u00e7\u00f5es de toxinas cianobacterianas, incluindo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lgsonic.com\/pt-br\/microcistina\/\">microcistina<\/a>, representa uma amea\u00e7a global \u00e0 qualidade da \u00e1gua dos lagos. Esta amea\u00e7a p\u00f5e em risco n\u00e3o s\u00f3 a sa\u00fade humana, mas tamb\u00e9m as economias e a estabilidade dos ecossistemas. Esses lagos foram amostrados em 2007, 2012 e 2017 como parte do programa National Lakes Assessment (NLA).<\/p>\n<p>Este extenso conjunto de dados permitiu-lhes investigar como a temperatura afeta a ocorr\u00eancia de microcistina (definida como concentra\u00e7\u00f5es acima do limite de detec\u00e7\u00e3o de 0,1 \u03bcg\/l de ensaios imunoenzim\u00e1ticos (ELISA) usados pela NLA), bem como as concentra\u00e7\u00f5es em v\u00e1rias regi\u00f5es geogr\u00e1ficas.<\/p>\n<h2>Microcistina e temperatura<\/h2>\n<p>A Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Mundial da Sa\u00fade <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/teams\/environment-climate-change-and-health\/water-sanitation-and-health\/water-safety-and-quality\/drinking-water-quality-guidelines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(OMS)<\/a> estabeleceu valores de orienta\u00e7\u00e3o provis\u00f3rios para a \u00e1gua pot\u00e1vel, estabelecendo concentra\u00e7\u00f5es seguras em 0,3 \u03bcg\/l para crian\u00e7as e 1 \u03bcg\/l para adultos. Enquanto isso, a Ag\u00eancia de Prote\u00e7\u00e3o Ambiental (EPA) dos EUA definiu um limite de microcistina de 8 \u03bcg\/l como o padr\u00e3o de qualidade da \u00e1gua para \u00e1guas de lazer para garantir a seguran\u00e7a de indiv\u00edduos envolvidos em nata\u00e7\u00e3o ou outras atividades recreativas na \u00e1gua.<\/p>\n<p>A an\u00e1lise dos dados da NLA revelou que, durante os tr\u00eas anos de amostragem, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s44221-023-00138-w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">18,0% e 9,9% dos lagos examinados<\/a> no estudo apresentaram concentra\u00e7\u00f5es superiores \u00e0s diretrizes de \u00e1gua pot\u00e1vel da OMS para crian\u00e7as e adultos, respectivamente. Al\u00e9m disso, 1,3% desses lagos apresentaram concentra\u00e7\u00f5es superiores ao crit\u00e9rio de qualidade da \u00e1gua de lazer da EPA.<\/p>\n<p>Os investigadores descobriram que os n\u00edveis de temperatura (T), NT (nitrog\u00eanio total), Cl-a (clorofila-a) e pH desempenharam pap\u00e9is significativos na explica\u00e7\u00e3o tanto da ocorr\u00eancia (de acordo com um modelo log\u00edstico) de microcistina quanto das concentra\u00e7\u00f5es medianas acima do limite de dete\u00e7\u00e3o (de acordo com um modelo log-normal).
