Monitor, Predict, and Control Algae with the MPC-Buoy

Ultrasonic algae control

MPC-Buoy monitors water quality- Monitoring buoy

Monitor

The MPC-Buoy provides a complete overview of your water quality by collecting the following parameters* every 10 minutes:

  • Chlorophyll α (green algae)
  • Phycocyanin (blue-green algae)
  • pH
  • Turbidity
  • Dissolved oxygen
  • Temperature

*Additional sensors can be purchased separately

MPC-Buoy predicts algal blooms for effective algae control - Monitoring buoy

Predict

Our database contains more than 10 years of information collected from thousands of LG Sonic devices operating around the world. It includes data points on different types of water bodies, algae species, seasons, industries, countries, etc.

The LG Sonic database is continually refreshed with new information, always optimizing predictive algorithms for the benefit of all our customers.

MPC-Buoy ultrasound algae control

Control

Algae can adapt to their surroundings, including ultrasound, making them resistant to treatment methods. To avoid this, we’ll determine the most effective ultrasonic program for your unique situation.

The program parameters will be specific to waveform, frequency, pause, and amplitude to combat further bloom. The key to long-term results is adjusting settings before the algae mutate and worsen the water bodies.

Easy installation

Once received, the MPC-Buoy can be easily assembled in 2 to 4 hours by 3 people.

Afterward, the buoy is ready to be deployed on your site. Drag it into the water by boat, then anchor it to keep it stationary. The installation time depends on the water bodies and weather.

MPC-Buoy can be installed or deployed in various reservoirs, lakes, dams, cooling ponds, towers, aquaculture ponds, wastewater treatment plants, power plants, settling ponds, and lagoons.

Minimal maintenance

Maintenance is only needed every six months. There’s no need to bring the buoy(s) back to shore unless there’s a natural disruption or emergency.

All components and buoys are reachable by boat, ensuring the safety of your staff to maintain them.

The installed automatic cleaning system, Aquawiper™, guarantees ultrasound efficiency, significantly reducing maintenance time, costs, and labor.

Remotely operated

Our dedicated Customer Support at LG Sonic monitors and operates the MPC-Buoys remotely alongside you.

When there are changes in your water quality, our experts will immediately adjust the ultrasonic programs to ensure optimal algae control.

The buoy is resistant to extreme heat and cold temperatures, even at high altitudes or in desert conditions. There are no necessary steps to take the buoy out during wintertime.

MPC-View

Water quality monitoring software

Once the MPC-Buoy is deployed, you will get access to the MPC-View, LG Sonic’s online water quality monitoring software. It is designed to be user-friendly and provides a complete picture of your water body at every monitored location.

With MPC-View, you gain real-time insights into water quality, algae growth, and treatment progress. It allows you to create rules that trigger email alerts when predetermined parameters are breached. Reputable water utilities have been using the MPC-View dashboard, which is accessible on any electronic device.

Common Questions

  • How long does it take to see results?
Most facilities see algae reduction within 3-4 weeks of deployment.
  • Does it work in all water types?
Yes. The MPC-Buoy operates effectively in freshwater, brackish, and saltwater.
  • What happens during winter?
The system runs year-round. Solar panels provide power even in low-light conditions, and the system is designed for extreme cold.
  • Can I move it between locations?
Yes. The modular design allows redeployment to different water bodies.
