A Collaborative Mission for Sustainable Water Management in Colombia

Last week, LG Sonic attended the 68th ACODAL NACIONAL Congress in Cartagena, Colombia, as part of a Dutch business delegation focused on sustainable water solutions. Organized with the support of MC GLOBAL SERVICES – Colombia, Holland House – Dutch-Colombian Chamber of Commerce, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Colombia, and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the mission aimed to explore opportunities for innovation and collaboration in the water and sanitation sector.

The week-long programme combined strategic meetings, field visits, and knowledge exchange to tackle some of the region’s most pressing water management challenges such as such as water scarcity, contamination, aging infrastructure, and climate resilience. For LG Sonic, this mission was an opportunity to strengthen our presence in Latin America, exchange knowledge, and explore new partnerships that align with our commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable water treatment technologies.

On the Ground: Meetings, Insights, and Impact

Our team had the opportunity to join a delegation of Dutch innovators focused on sustainable water solutions as part of the Combi-Track Cartagena ABC (Action for Business and Climate) Programme.During the mission, participants engaged in high-level meetings with Colombian public and private water sector stakeholders. They conducted technical visits to critical water sites in Cartagena. Additionally, they took part in matchmaking sessions to spark future collaborations and co-hosted a conferences. This immersive experience allowed the Dutch delegation to gain firsthand insights into Cartagena’s local water challenges and to present practical, sustainable solutions for the region.

These activities offered the delegation a comprehensive understanding of Colombia’s evolving water landscape. By seeing the challenges up close and interacting directly with decision-makers, LG Sonic was able to demonstrate the real-world value of our chemical-free algae control technologies, powered by real-time data and intelligent algorithms. More importantly, we gained valuable insights that will guide future collaborations tailored to regional needs.

Our Mission: Building Partnerships for Sustainable Water Solutions

At LG Sonic, we believe that true impact begins with collaboration. Our mission is not only to provide cutting-edge water treatment solutions but also to co-create sustainable water strategies with our partners on the ground. In Colombia, this vision is already taking shape through our ongoing work with utilities such as Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) and Acuacar, where our systems help safeguard drinking water quality and reduce dependency on chemical treatments. Participating in this mission further emphasized the importance of local engagement, knowledge exchange, and mutual trust. Each interaction, whether in a formal boardroom or during a technical field visit, provided a platform for meaningful dialogue about shared challenges and opportunities.

As Colombia accelerates its efforts to enhance water resilience and quality, LG Sonic is committed to being a long-term partner in this journey. By adapting our technology to local environmental, social, and regulatory realities, we can help communities achieve cleaner, safer, and more sustainable water ecosystems now and for the future.
